Complete in two volumes. Georgiana Baroness Bloomfield was maid of honour to Queen Victoria. This work is an account of her career as a courtier and as the wife of a diplomat, detailing (with discretion and prudence) a simple account of the way in which the Queen’s early married life was spent. However, although the author avoids gossip and malicious anecdotes of those in court, the text is an amusing and interesting account of balls and concerts, banquets and receptions, and general court life within the Victorian period.
