A lovely clean book

The 1990 volume of Warship has a variety of topics …

Chapman’s Frigate (40 gun Swedish frigate of 1789s)

Ramming as a naval tactic in the late 19th century

Sankeikan – A Japanese coastal defense ship of the 1880s

USS Oregon (coastal battleship)

Russian ‘Lake type Submarines in the Baltic War 1914-16

The British seaplane carrier Engadine at the Battle of Jutland

Weird Sisters (British Large Light Cruisers Glorious and Furious)

The Japanese Repair Ship Akashi

The Yorktown class carrier

World War II operations to deliver aircraft to Malta

The Midget Submarine Attack on the Tirpitz

Review: More of the same – and that’s a good thing. I’ve been collecting Conway’s ‘Warship’ series off and on for many years, and this one is about average for the lot, meaning it’s great! Includes articles on British frigates of the 1780s, ramming as a weapon in late 19th-century warships, Japanese coast defense ships of the Matsushima class, The old battleship USS Oregon, Russian submarines in the 1914-16 period, the seaplane carrier HMS Engadine at Jutland, the Japanese repair ship Akashi, The Yorktown class aircraft carriers, getting aircraft to Malta during the war, and the midget submarine attack on Tirpitz.
