A startling look at the last days of the ancient Egyptian pharaoh draws on new medical and archaeological evidence that suggests that Tutankhamen suffered a brutal, untimely death that led to subsequent palace and political intrigue.
Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this book which I read on holiday in Mexico. Bob Brier is an excellent narrator and keeps you interested right to the last page. It is certainly a great introduction to any
amateur armchair Egyptologist who have spent their time watching Egypt on History Channel et al ,you just cannot beat the written word.
Some will say ‘Heard it all before-nothing new’, but Bob Brier does not ram any of the theories down your throat. He decides instead, to let the reader form their own opinion as he gently guides you from theory to theory. My opinion on the matter: something sinister was afoot during this period, in particular, what became of Tutankhamen’s young wife after the event? She is never heard from again – Ever
My suspicion lies with Tutankhamen’s guide and mentor, the ageing Aye as the culprit. As for me,it’s back to the library or dusty old bookshops as I cannot afford to go trekking across The Valley Of the Kings in Egypt
