A well organised sequence of classic quotations gleaned from literature, politics, public speaking and history. It is arranged in four main sections, by author, from the Bible, from proverbs, and finally the last half of the book is an alphabetical index. If one knows some of the quote then the chances are one can find all of it in here because the very comprehensive index of key-words will point at the saying in question in the relevant section. It also allows similar sayings sharing key-words to be easily compared for best relevance.
My main problem with this volume is that it was first compiled in 1951, revised in 1982 and this version in 1988. So now at best it is twenty years behind the times, and much of it is sixty years old. Fortunately all the best quotes are timeless, and many of those are in here.
