This was one of the most gripping thrillers I have read for a long time. I couldn’t guess the ending until the last few pages. I would recommend this book (and several other Minette Walters books) to anyone who likes a well written story, not too many characters amd that keep you guessing.

Reviews:

  • Guaranteed to burn the midnight oil. — Mike Ripley ― Daily Telegraph

  • Violence may well be offered to anyone who tries to part you from this marvellous, dramatically intelligent novel. It shimmers with suspense, ambiguity and a deep, unholy joy. — Frances Fyfield ― Daily Mail
