Actually this book was first published in 1954, so the fashions are most certainly from the 50s, and not the 60s and 70s as one reviewer has said. However, 1950s styles are very much in fashion at the moment, so the decorative ideas for clothes may actually be rather useful nowadays. The techniques are certainly all still in use, and very well-explained and illustrated here. It’s more complete than any single modern work on sewing that I’ve yet seen, and for the most part applicable to all sewing machines, not just Singer machines from the mid-1950s.
