This is an excellent autobiography. Written in an interview, question and answer format, Mr. Tortelier’s views about music and cello performance are original and candid. His thoughts about his teaching philosophy and cello pedagogy are pragmatic and thought provoking. I would recommend this book for any performer, music teacher, or anyone that appreciates beautiful music.

With b&w photos in plates, and some musical notation in text, which is in the form of a conversation or interview with the conductor David Blum.

Review: A really interesting and informative book, with down to earth comments from Mr. Tortellier.
