A well-presented copy of a book which is becoming increasingly scarce.

This is an excellent book by an extremely well researched author who is clearly passionate about Hull’s rich fishing history. This book can’t help but stop you in your tracks when you read about the huge losses that were sustained by Hull’s trawling industry. It is a great reference book, detailing every lost trawler over a 150-year period. The text is interspersed with some interesting comparison bar graphs and some lovely black and white photographs. I think this is a good companion book to Dr Alec Gill’s book ‘Good Old Hessle Road’.
