This work is about human origins. It draws on all the latest knowledge from anthropology and archaeology, via genetics and evolution, to psychology and medicine. It tackles issues such as hereditary genes in criminal behaviour and homosexuality.

Steve Jones’ book tries to draw together ideas and lines of evolution from many different sources and is indeed a thoroughly engaging book. I personally disagreed with some of his reasoning, but that is in part the reason for books such as these – to make you think about the subject, and for that it succeeded.
