A well kept edition, complete in two volumes. An interesting look at the life of George III, discussing his country, court, and family. King George III was the first Hanover monarch of Britain, and is known today for his declining mental illness as he grew older, which resulted in his son taking the seat as regent. He was the King during a tumultuous time in history, with the American War of Independence, French Revolution, and the Napoleonic Wars all taking place during his reign. Volume I with a frontispiece, and nine plates. Volume II with eight plates. Written by John Galt. Galt was a novelist and social commentator, who is often called the first political novelist in English.
