Learn more about the history of our waterways and get some ideas for future sorties. The history of our canal networks is fascinating. The work that was undertaken to move materials during the industrial revolution is just “mind-blowing.” I would definitely recommend this book to anyone interested in the history of our waterways and not forgetting those who enjoy walking and wildlife.

Review: I had previously bought the northern part of this book and was pleased to find this collection of all three books in one. The walks are OK, but the real interest for me is the historical background to each canal, which I found quite fascinating. A very worthwhile purchase.
