Please view our photographs and read the rubric on the inside of the dust jacket. This book is a lovely copy but it is NOT an original FIRST EDITION. As a special favour Seamus Heaney signed this book to a chosen fan, Claire Stainthorpe. Note: An original FIRST EDITION would normally fetch £300 to £600 in this book’s current condition. So though this signature is genuine, it is appended to a book issue of some 5,000 copies which would normally retail at £8 to £10 without signature. A Seamus Heaney signature on this type of book normally fetches £200 to £500.

Thus though this copy of Beowulf is an excellent copy which during the next 3 years FBA would hope to sell for £475+.
