Illustrated in colour with maps and plans. ‘A History of Chinese Civilisation’ was first published in France in 1972 by Librairie Armand Colin, Paris as a single volume under the title ‘Le Monde chinois’. It was first translated into English and publishedby Cambridge University Press in 1982. A second English edition was published by Cambridge
University Press in 1996. This Folio edition follows the text of the second English edition.
