Told in a collection of stunning landscape photographs, this is the story of the Yorkshire Dales over the winter. Starting with the first hints of autumn, running through the long, cold white winter and concluding with the first signs of new life in the spring.

The images show the Dales in all their different moods – colourful, calm, lonely, tranquil, stormy, icy, snowy and the optimism of early spring. This is a chance to see the Dales scenery in literally a different light. To experience these scenes you have to be prepared to brave the cold and to dress up warmly. Far from being a drab and grey landscape over winter, the Dales take on a character of their own when blanketed in snow with bright blue skies to lighten the scene. The familiar patterns of the Dales countryside with its drystone walls and field barns stand out even more clearly against the white backdrop. Waterfalls are at their most impressive when in spate with autumnal rainfall and waters from the spring thaw.

Professional photographer Keith Wood has produced a collection of 140 inspiring colour photographs that tell the unique story of the Dales over the winter.
