Review: I’m a student in my first year of a History of Art course at university and this book was on my preliminary reading list. I started reading it from page to page like any other book which it can be read like. However I have also used it as a reference in an essay. It roughly covers many key points in art history from the Renaissance. It doesn’t cover nearly as much as many other books do but it is an interesting read nonetheless. It’s one of the smallest books on my list too so it’s portability meant I could read it any time when I was out too. I advise this book to be used as a reference in essay work, like how I used it, but I do not think it is the book to go for if you are not a student and you’re hoping to gain general knowledge on art history.
