I found it of great interest for the sidelight it gives on the life of the royal family at that time. I was interested in the stories he relates of his grandmother, Queen Mary. I also have a special interest in his time in Colditz as one of the “prominente”. I was not able to relate to his interest in Opera or to his stories of famous musicians and singers, except the ones that I had heard of. However I am sure that those with a knowledge of the operatic and musical world of this time the memoir would be of great interest. It is good to learn that he used his position in society to further his interest in music, and that he did not spend all his time shooting and fishing.
