Author: Margaret Scott Haycraft (1855–1936): Alternate Name(s): MacRitchie (maiden name) Biography: Margaret Scott Haycraft was born in 1855 in Newport Pagnell, Buckinghamshire. Beginning in 1880, she started a prolific writing career of not only fiction but poetry as well. In 1883, she married William Pamell Haycraft and the couple resided in Bournemouth. Interestingly, in 1926, she won a limerick-writing contest held by the Gentlewoman. Her husband died in 1929 and she died in 1936.
