A nice clean copy, and as the photographs here illustrate remains in a well kept condition.  This is an early 19th century miniature edition. A good original binding. Hinges and corners are carefully strengthened. Smooth spine with gilt decoration and original red leather title label. Marbled endpapers. Free-endpapers lightly soiled. Engraved frontis by “J. Chapman sc.” after a design by “R. Cooke el.”. Printed title and clean text throughout, on lightly toned paper. colophon to base of title and at the base. * The “Junius Letters” appeared anonymously between 1768 and 1773. They were published in various newspapers before being gathered together. They were political letters, opposing the policies of the king and the government. Their authorship has never been definitely proven, but Sir Philip Francis is a strong candidate. This edition contains all the letters of Junius, Philo Junius, and of Sir William Draper and Mr. Horne to Junius, with their respective dates, and according to the order in which they appeared.
