To have in my hands something which expresses the history of England, in the authentic voice of the people, is a real treasure to me. I began to read it, and thought – this is what they were saying, seeing, feeling. Now, getting over the excitement of looking through this book – it is a large edition, fully illustrated and annotated, a window on this bygone world.

Review: This is a hardback copy and has the chronicles through the Saxon Ages with very informative and excellent pictures of the scenes of the day just to wet the appetite. Easy book to read and reference. A must for my reference library.
