An illustrated book of Scottish interiors which includes great houses, small castles and inner city dwellings. First published in 1994.
Review: This book definitely gives some insight into the décor and interiors of various homes in Scotland but it barely touches the surface and is not as informative as I had anticipated. The subject matter covers quite a few styles of homes in various settings that range from grand to simple and the photos are quite enjoyable to look at (the fact that the book was published in 1987 should be considered as some of the photos are a little “dark”). In my opinion, it was a worthwhile read that provided a couple hours of quiet and enjoyable entertainment on a wet and chilly afternoon and it has whetted my appetite for more literature on the history and interior décor of Scottish homes…..and there is precious little of this literature available at a reasonable price here in the States!
