Illustrated with photos to text. 8vo, blue cloth. Griff Williams saw service aboard HMSWellington during the Battle of the Atlantic as an naval escort vessel for convoys, at Dunkirk in the Mediterranean and later at Gibraltar, Algiers and West Africa. This is an affectionate reflection of active duty as seen from the perspective of a crewmember of a British naval sloop both at sea and on shore leave. It reflects the very difficult times of war and the good times, the drinking and carousing, when the men could forget and be boys again.
