This book showcases some lesser-known artists in a way that no other book on the market does, and all in glorious colour (so often not the case in books of this date and earlier). If this is not your type of painting then don’t buy it, but if you want to be introduced to some wonderful British landscape artists of the 19th and 20th centuries that you may have never heard of, painting in a traditional realistic manner, then I highly recommend it, especially as I got my copy for a mere pittance. This book cost £35 when it was first published!
