This is a masterfully written book discussing the issue of aggression as part of human nature. The author who is a psychiatrist argues and provides a lot of evidence that aggression is a normal and essential part of our nature. He also provides evidence that without aggression we will not succeed. The child will not be able to break away from parental control and oppressed people will continue to suffer under oppressive regimes.

While the psychoanalytic orientation of the author clashed with my biological orientation, I found the book very educational Nd informative and I highly recommend it for all who are interested in this debate.
