Review: I bought this book as I was researching my great uncle who was killed on the Somme aged 19 in 1916. It was very helpful in finding out where his battalion was during various periods of the WW1 and it’s laid out in a very easy format to follow. For those interested in the battle of the Somme itself the day by day account is excellent. Not long after buying the book I went to France to visit his grave. An unforgettable experience. The Somme in Picardy is a beautiful region of France.
