Decorated cloth; a fine copy in the slightly rubbed slipcase. Edited, and with an 11-page introduction, by Michael Edwards.

Memoirs of Maj John Corneille (b c1727), British Army, describing voyage to India (1754) as secretary to Col John Adlercron, British Army, Colonel 39th Foot, C-in-C, Madras 1754-57, travels in south India and his part in military expeditions to Madras and Bengal, including an account of the battle of Plassey (23 Jun 1757) and description of Bengal. (Published as ‘Journal of my services in India’ (London 1966).
