Light blue cloth binding. Gilt title on the spine. Gilt title and Cambridge heraldic emblem on the front board.

Cloth. Condition: Very Good. Herbert Railton; Fanny Railton (illustrator). A beautiful history of the picturesque city of Cambridge, with tinted lithographs by Herbert Railton. Detailing the University’s origins, Cambridge during the Norman days, the earliest colleges, the Royal foundations, and the ancient and Protestant foundations.Written by Charles Stubbs, an English clergyman educated at Sidney Sussex College. He served as the fourth Bishop of Truro.

Collated, complete. In the publisher’s original full cloth binding. Externally generally smart, with a little wear to the head and tail of the spine.  Internally, firmly bound. A very good book.
