A nice clean rare copy from the library gathered by the famous Cambridge Don, computer scientist, food and wine connoisseur, Jack Arnold LANG. Jack founded the Midsummer House, Cambridge’s paramount restaurant. This dining experience is hidden amongst the grassy pastures and grazing cattle of Midsummer Common and perched on the banks of the River Cam. The Midsummer House experience is imaginatively curated to delight and amaze, so our surprise set menu changes regularly and is our playground to showcase our reverence for purity of flavour and natural seasonal ingredients.

The BBC invite the “Two Fat Ladies” to ride again, taking their motorbike and sidecar back onto the road, to search out ever more scrumptious meals. The series includes breakfast on a North Sea oil rig; high tea for a Welsh Methodist congregation; and lunch on the Triumph factory production line.

The “Two Fat Ladies Ride Again” cookery book contains lots of inspiring and delicious recipes. It’s an ideal supplement to the TV series, a little less useful on its own as it does not contain many photos. So you sometimes wonder what the dish is supposed to look like once you’ve followed the instructions. This cookery book is hence a little “old-fashioned”, but the recipes are relatively easy to cook.
