This is a meaningful book which all Christians seeking a renewal of faith should read. John Pridmore searched for happiness in money, power, drugs, and sex and found none. In this book he demolishes these worldly illusions and presents his truth. Pridmore was a vicious gangster of London’s East End, mixing with some of the capital’s most violent criminals. Following a dramatic life-changing experience, he left it all behind. In Gangster’s Guide to God, Pridmore talks compellingly about the reality of the criminal underworld and the journey to his new life, sharing the remarkable stories of many of those he has met along the way. He provides a radical, honest, and inspiring take on what it means to be a Christian in the 21st century.

Reviews:

“I heartily support the work of John Pridmore. Reaching out to young people. I hope everyone will buy his book.” Cardinal Cormac Murphy O’Connor — The Universe, December2, 2007

Pridmore’s mixture of black humour and intense spirituality make Gangster’s Guide an enjoyable and at times intensely moving experience. — Westminster Record, December 2007

This book is very special and powerful. Written with skill, in bite sized chunks; every paragraph makes an impression, and stays with you, making you eager to read the next and the next . . . .until you finish it and think “Wow”, that was really something. And there in lies the genius of it. This book has the ability to present Christianity to people young and old, and perhaps unfamiliar with it, in a way that will seem “Cool” and not dry or boring in the least. Our wayward youth, can so often think that going to Church, believing in God, and learning about and keeping the Ten Commandments is boring and not for them, but when confronted by the somewhat formidable appearance of John Pridmore, ex gangster, in dark suit and shades, standing in front of them and telling them, “Jesus loves You” – well, I can tell you no one laughs! ! Who would dare to!? And this gives him the ability to reach young offenders in a way few others could. Only the good Lord could come up with the genius idea of touching the hearts and minds of young offenders, by converting one of their own! I can’t rate this book highly enough.
