Review: Since starting researching family history some years ago, I’ve grown to love Francis Frith’s photos, particularly as I’ve a special interest in Victorian social history. This book is just wonderful, and I’ve only read the first dozen or so pages! There are many, many photos, of course, but also Zeigler’s excellent commentary about the changes that happened in many areas of the UK. Apparently, this book is now withdrawn from general sale, so I consider myself very fortunate to have found this copy for sale. This book is going to keep me enthralled for a LONG time!
